Barcelona-based ERA architects have already established themselves as innovative designers with their Pinea suite project that is hugely successful.  Pinea mobile is yet another amazing project, an innovative new prototype surrounded by vineyards in Penedés.
Pinea mobile is an eco-suite on wheels, with self-sufficient systems. Equipped with solar-powered, innovative fabrics, green roof and systems for rainwater harvesting, this project takes a step further with their innovations.
The Pinea mobile project utilizes the expertise of local yet international exporting collaborators for the green roof(Girona), textile fabric and manufacturer (Barcelona), metal works(Lleda), cork stoppers(Girona) and projected cork (Barcelona). The walls and furniture in the eco-suite, are made using certified wood. The roof uses sedum vegetation over a special substratum grown in Catalonia, which helps in creating a quality shadow to be able to sleep until late or have a siesta despite summer sun.
The solar panel in the mobile is able to produce 50W and retain them in a battery, which allows the guests to change a pair of smartphones, have a side bed light, a dining ceiling lamp and an decorative ambient lighten wall. This system made in France has a solidarity percentage to produce solar energy and solar lights in Africa.
The openings are made with dyed acrylic fabric made in Catalonia within a production process that saves water. This fabric also has great water repellency without losing it’s breathable characteristics. This lets the guest to be sheltered from the sun and water while still being able to breathe fresh air. It is also provided with a mosquito net to sleep by the full moon.

The rainwater harvest system is able to host 100 liters of water and feed the plants above by capillarity in summer with 9 liters/ square meters per day. Although this system is well known in France, it is the first time it has ever been installed. Check out their other projects and more on this one on their website.
