Founded in 2017, by sisters Sophia, Georgia and Nina Scott, GROUNDTRUTH creates truly exceptional products made from 100% recycled materials, ensuring the highest standards for the users, workers and the environment. The inspiration came from the founders’ life as documentary filmmakers, where they required products that they could rely on in demanding destinations as well as urban environments.

GROUNDTRUTH’s RIKR Backpack is made entirely from post-consumer plastic with their  GT-RK-001 textile. Every backpack uses around 120 used plastic bottles, that’s otherwise out there, polluting the environment. The offcuts from manufacturing are also turned to smaller products like RIKR card holder. The backpack’s innovative features has been developed in response to real-world travel experience. It is airport security friendly and adapts perfectly to meet challenges of every journey. The bag has modular compartments, multiple pocket, convenient access points offer a refined resilient and secure way to carry all your essential equipment.  The Backpack was field-tested with polar explorer and environmentalist Robert Swan in Norway and Antarctica.

If recycled plastic bottles can be made into something that can survive these conditions – no one can ever doubt the durability of GROUNDTRUTH.

GROUNDTRUTH’s innovative products all aim to protect our natural environment.  They also ensure to know the people behind their products, by visiting and tracking every step of the supply and manufacturing chain. The startup has also partnered with manufacturers who are bluesign® approved,  a solution provider for people sustainable manufacturing of textile consumer products.
True to their vision, their work continues to focus on making use of what otherwise might be discarded as unusable waste, like PET and captured carbon(CO2 resin). GROUNDTRUTH also offsets their entire carbon footprint.

GROUNDTRUTH focuses on making sure that their products never end up in landfill, by plans of setting up regional projects where customers return their old backpacks, which will then get donated to community projects for disadvantaged schoolchildren to use.  Apart from these initiatives, GROUNDTRUTH Foundation aims to create project lead initiatives that will offer scholarships, internships and guidance to young people, with the aim of enabling them to make a positive change in the world.
